Recipes for cooking in metric

All the recipes in this section are designed to show how simple rational metric quantities can be used as the basis for dishes of all kinds with all types of ingredient. Hopefully they will give you some ideas of your own and help you to learn how to define quantities that do not waste ingedients given the typical packaged quantities available in the shops.

Tradional methods of guaging quantities using utensils such as cups and spoons are catered for but they are based on approximate values in millilitres. The actual values for vessels you may normally use can be checked with the help of a measuring jug and water.

Although the recipes can be freely printed off and distributed as you see fit, we only ask that their origin be acknowledged if reproduced elsewhere.

Happy cooking!
